                                         JFC, I Got This Far!

                                             Chapter 4: "Frankenstein Episode"

                                                             by Joe Praml

In 2018, there was a worldwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus. Joe Praml read this excerpt from his autobiographical novel, JFC! at the Westwood and Palms Rancho Park Libraries for their celebration of the 200th anniversary.  This is the novelist's look back at how he was as an 11-year-old boy, and his discovery of Mary Shelley's novel, and his reaction to the powerful ideas of yearning, vengeance, responsibility and death.
